Not everyone will go into space either, 2024

A poetic reflection on the end of the world, touching on mass surveillance, and how one finds their own way through. Docufiction involving surveillance cameras around the world.

Description:
The idea for this film was born many years ago after a series of alien invasion nightmares. In these dreams, I was forced to abandon Earth, and each time, our planet felt acutely like my only true home, a place I absolutely refused to leave, even in the face of global catastrophe. This feeling of the overwhelming desire to stay, no matter the cost, was so powerful and haunting that it years later manifested as this body of work. In the broadest sense, this is an attempt to explore a deeply rooted, personal attachment to the planet we call home.

I took footage from weather surveillance cameras in different parts of the world. The other part I shot myself, using the same principle of a detached, cold technological gaze. People gradually disappear, while the cameras keep watching until everything dissolves into white noise.
